Donald Liardi

Master Artist yet still a student, learning and absorbing; a foundation education of art beginning as a child; multiple phases of creativity and mediums; A Working Artist, Full Time with 40 years of designing and creating sculptures mainly in bronze working with foundries, finishing each piece as if unique ;a lifetime study in anatomy until finding one's own voice and vocabulary; original ;enffaces is on dynamics and energy; to give fire and life to each work while laying more than one meaning or dimension to them

Donald Liardi was born in Oceanside, Long Island, New York in 1951. He was very young when he became interested in art and passionate in sculpture. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Syracuse University for Fine Arts in 1973. Later in 1976, Don continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva, Switzerland.

By the 1980, he settled in Canada and has exhibited his work throughout Canada, Europe and America. His sculptures, which are primarily in bronze, are expressive and exaggerated human and animal forms, inspired by ancient Greek and novel art. His sense of humor and play are shown in each sculpture, his tricks remind acrobats, Nymph's and athletes
